“Cottonwood Creek winds through this Preserve which also features meadows and pecan trees that date back to 200 years or more. A two-mile soft-surface trail along the creek is marked with interpretative signage to high-light points of interest. ”
On our visit to this trail we understood some of the reports we had received. It is in need of a little TLC. The trail is still walkable, but you will be stepping over fallen limbs and walk through high grass from time to time. IT can be a great experience, but understand that at the time of this writing that this trail was rough.
The trail starts along the treeline in the field south of the creek. ~0.2 miles in it enters an opening in the woods. This trail was once wide and will remain good for a rough hike for some time.
There is a nice covered picnic area with grills by the parking-lot. Great for a picnic with an adventure.
